I had the pleasure to have Andrew Robinson as my student during his MA in translation Studies at the University of Hull in the academic year 2016-2017. Andrew completed various translation tasks in the medical, technical and legal field for my course on Specialist Translation Skills, and his final assessment consisted of an exceptionally good translation of a medical text, which demonstrated a thorough awareness of the needs of the client, and the ability to reproduce the appropriate register, style and content of the source text in translation, also as a result of an in-depth research and reflection on the correct terminology to adopt.
Not only did Andrew excel in class for his writing and translating skills and for his ease and confidence in using a variety of translation software but also for being a perfect person to both work and get along with.
